Freespace Reference Kit

Hillcrest Labs has developed a Freespace Reference Kit to promote integration of Freespace technology into a wide array of devices.

For hardware developers, the Freespace Reference Kit simplifies prototyping and development of handheld devices that can benefit from motion-sensing data.

Software application developers can access Human Interface Device (HID) messages sent by the USB dongle to create Freespace-enabled applications without the need to learn motion-processing algorithms.

The HID message items include:

Normal HID Message Button, Wheel, Pointer [mickeys]
Motion Message (Body-Frame) Supports tilt-based and crude games
Supports differentiated motions
Linear Acceleration [cm/s2], Angular Velocity [rad/s]
Position Message (User Frame) Linear Offset [m]
Angular Offset [quaternion]

The Freespace Reference Kit includes:

Handheld and dongle modules These modules provide a quick and easy way to experience Freespace motion control technology without the need to install any software on the user's device.
Documentation A User Guide and a Developer guide are included. The User Guide describes the setup and function of the kit. The Developer Guide describes the API, HID messages, and included code snippets.
