HōMEtv allows viewers to manage their television viewing experience with a simple, feature–rich on–screen interface.  This application provides the main functionality of today’s TV applications–linear television and digital video recording.

HōMEepg^™

This full-featured application for television viewing includes:

• Live TV: Viewing live TV is central to the home entertainment experience.

• Electronic Program Guide (EPG) & Channel Banner: The HōMEepg guide features a program grid that is enhanced with Freespace^™ motion control. The guide contains genre filters and other navigation tools.

• Favorites: Users can designate preferred channels to appear on the channel banner for quick access. 

• Search: The application’s robust search and filter mechanism allows users to search for specific titles or actors. Results are presented with easily recognizable visual images.

• Parental controls: These include locking by MPAA and TV ratings, hiding adult titles and locking whole channels. The user is able to temporarily or permanently unlock programming.

• Configurable settings: The application provides a wizard that assists in setting up the program guide for the user’s location and provider. The user can also configure parental control default settings and access system information for use in troubleshooting.

HōMEdvr^™

HōMEdvr provides complete digital video recorder functionality.  Features include:

• Full featured Digital Video Recorder: Record, play (with progress bar), delete (priority–based), recorded schedule, display of space available, sort, filter, conflict resolution, and watch while recording.

• Tight Integration with HōMEepg: Unlike other guides that present the DVR function as a separate application, HōMEdvr integrates the DVR into the guide itself. This eliminates complex hierarchies to access DVR services. Scheduling and viewing of recorded programming are always just a few clicks away.

• Visual listing of recorded shows: Recorded shows are displayed in a Visual Directory^™.  This allows users to find shows in a fast, engaging way.

• Advanced playback controls: Playback of content supports pause, multi–speed fast–forward and rewind, skip ahead and back, and jump–to–live.

• Dual tuner support: Two TV tuners allow the user to watch one show while another is recorded.
