HōMEmedia manages digital media content from a consumer’s personal collection (stored on a HōME^™–enabled network device or personal computer), including music, photos and home videos.

HōMEmusic^™

The HōMEmusic application presents the user’s music collection in a Visual Directory^™, with thumbnail images of CD covers. The user can easily select specific genres, artists, albums and tracks.  The selected tracks and albums can be played individually, or added to playlists that can be edited, re–ordered or randomized and saved for future use.

Playing, pausing, and skipping forward and back through individual tracks or across tracks is accomplished with just a few clicks of the Freespace^™ controller, using HōME’s onscreen controls.

Depending on platform DRM support, both protected and unprotected content can be shown in a single integrated view.

HōMEphoto^™

The HōMEphoto application presents the user’s photos in a Visual Directory. The user can group and browse photos by various attributes independent of their place on computer disks or removable media. The user may choose from several browsing options.

The user can also pan, zoom or rotate individual photos.  One of the most important features of the photo application is its slideshow management, which allows users to easily add photos from different physical locations, add background music and effortlessly save the slideshow for future use.

HōMEvideo^™

HōMEvideo presents the user’s video library in a Visual Directory.
The broad codec support of HōMEvideo allows licensees to support a range of formats.

The integrated HōMEvideo player shares the same interface as other applications in the HōME system, and includes standard controls such as play, pause, multi speed fast–forward and rewind, and volume.

HōMEdvd^™

Hardware platforms with DVD playback capability may include HōMEdvd.  This software application enables DVDs to be played using convenient on–screen controls.  Navigation of DVD menus, closed captioning, and enforcement of regional content protection are supported in the user interface of HōMEdvd.

HōMEradio^™

HōMEradio allows users to access both broadcast radio and Internet radio stations through an interactive station guide.  The user can search for stations by genre, location, or transmission type, or tune directly to a specific station. Users can save favorite stations in presets for easy access.

HōMEmediaServer^™

HōMEmediaServer is a PC application that enables all of the content available on PCs throughout the home to be presented in a unified visual view on any HōMEmedia^™ client, regardless of the client’s platform.

This Microsoft Windows compatible application serves several functions.  First, the server processes the content library stored on the PC, linking the content to standard metadata sources.  For example, this allows HōMEmusic to show a visual representation of the album covers for music stored on the PC.  Second, the server responds to metadata and media requests from HōME clients so that content may be played back on the HōMEmedia client device.
