The core of the Freespace® motion technology is Freespace MotionEngine software. It performs the essential motion processing functions that create highly accurate and responsive motion-based applications.

- High Performance In-Air Pointing: Proprietary algorithms interpret natural motions and translate these into precise, high-resolution onscreen cursor motion. Advanced motion processing enables the use of a pointing device in any physical orientation, precise control by users with extreme hand tremors, and improved cursor alignment.
- 3D Motion Tracking and Gestures: Proprietary algorithms enable precise 1:1 motion tracking and complex gestures for use in motion-gaming applications and any application that requires tracking of motions in three dimensions. Data outputs from Hillcrest Labs' sensor fusion algorithm also include linear acceleration, angular velocity, and angular position.
- Modular Architecture: Our configurable software solution easily accommodates multiple sensor configurations, including five-axis and six-axis designs, and allows product designers to quickly make cost and performance trade-offs.
- Component Diversity: Compatible with an increasing number of low-cost, off-the-shelf MEMS inertial sensors from many of the world's leading sensor suppliers and compatible with a wide variety of RF communications protocols.

Smart TV: The Freespace SmartTV solution offers a low-cost, high-performance solution for digital TV and set-top box devices that bundle a motion remote control for cursor-controlled TV applications. It is the most cost-effective motion-based pointing solution in the market today.
Sensor Modules: The Freespace MotionEngine also enables a wide variety of applications in the military, medical, sports/fitness, industrial, and virtual reality markets. It is also available as a software license for these markets.
